2025 FSTP (Fire Service Training Program) Grant

Fire Service Leaders/Training Officers:

We are pleased to announce the opening of the 2025 FSTP (Fire Service Training Program) grant. Program letters have been sent to each municipal CAOs, Metis Settlement Chairs and Band Administrators.

Please note the important dates below. It is recommended that these dates be put into your calendars for reference.

***Important dates

Ø  Application deadline: September 30, 2024 – 23:59HRS (No extensions will be granted after this date)

Ø  Applicants notified and funds dispersed: March-April 2025

Ø  Last day for extension/course change requests: April 1, 2026

Ø  Last day for courses to be delivered: May 31, 2026

Ø  Final reporting documents and any unspent funds due: July 31, 2026

Public Notice – UL Solutions Warns of Unauthorized UL Mark on Wi-Fi Smoke Detector

NORTHBROOK, ILLINOIS — Aug. 15, 2024 — The following is a notification from UL Solutions that the Wi-Fi Smoke Detector identified here bears an unauthorized UL Mark for the United States and Canada. The Wi-Fi Smoke Detector has not been evaluated by UL Solutions to the appropriate Safety Standards, and it is unknown if the product complies with any safety requirements.

Name of Product: Wi-Fi Smoke Detector

Remedy: UL Solutions recommends that the product be removed from service and be replaced with a UL Certified smoke detector.

Identification on the Product Labels: The “Jllom” brand Wi-Fi Smoke Detector bears an unauthorized UL Certification Mark for the United States and Canada:

Location: Known to be distributed and sold by Jinlankeji Co. Ltd. under the “Jllom” brand and sold through e-commerce retailers, including Walmart.com.
