NFPA 1021-1 Fire Officer Level Level 1 – Kananaskis

This course is available to members of recognized emergency services organizations. This course is being delivered over 6 months online with one (1) practical day on November 6, and the exam and practical evaluations on November 13th at the Kananaskis Emergency Services Centre. Students will be required to purchase their own textbook: IFSTA Company Officer 6th Edition. The textbook is available from the Alberta Fire Chief’s Association bookstore.

This NFPA 1021-1 course will meet the requirements for IFSAC & ProBoard certification. Students will learn Fire Officer communications and background knowledge, the introduction to basic supervisor functions, safety regulations and basic investigation, and single-unit incident management.

Prerequisites: NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter and NFPA 1041-1 Level 1 Fire & Emergency Services Instructor for ProBoard and IFSAC certification.

A 50% deposit is required to reserve a seat in the course. Deposits are non-refundable if canceled within two weeks of the start date.

A schedule will be provided ahead of the July 2nd start date; each chapter will commence approximately a month apart. This will require the logging in and watching the lecture and completing assignments each month.
