DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF – TRAINING & SUPPORT
Leduc County is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Deputy Fire Chief – Training and Support to join our team. Reporting to the Director – Protective Services, this exciting opportunity provides leadership to, and is accountable for Fire Services’ facilities, communications, equipment, firefighter training, enforcement of safety codes, fire investigation and prevention. As a leader within the Fire Services department, the Deputy Fire Chief is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s strategic and operational objectives.
Our fire services leadership team develops strategic and operational plans aligned with Council objectives, ensuring effective emergency response, training, prevention, and inspections. We manage and support staff through hiring, development, and guidance, while overseeing department facilities, equipment, and logistics to maintain readiness. We lead fire training programs for recruits and firefighters, administer fire inspections, investigations, and prevention initiatives, and collaborate with regional partners for mutual aid and public education. Budget management, policy development, and mental health support programs are integral to our operations. Dedicated to continuous improvement, compliance, and service excellence, we uphold the highest standards in fire protection and emergency response.
