1st Call for Nominations for AFCA Urban and Rural Director At Large Positions

Good Afternoon Members:

It is time to fill the AFCA Urban and Rural Membership Director at Large positions. We are issuing the first call for nominations for these two separate roles.

Current Urban Membership Director at Large, Chief Trevor Brice of Okotoks, has expressed that he will allow his name to stand for another term.

According to the AFCA Bylaws, both the Urban and Rural Director at Large positions have three-year terms. Candidates must hold Active Member status to be eligible; prior board experience is not required. Drayton, having moved from Director at Large-Rural to 1st Vice President, has resigned from his former position after serving one year of his three-year term. Consequently, the individual elected as Rural Director at Large this year will serve until 2026, while the term for the Urban Director at Large will expire in 2027.

Although the Bylaws allow the Board to appoint a member to fill any vacancy resulting from a resignation for the remainder of the term, we have chosen to proceed with a full member election for the Rural Membership Director at Large position to incorporate the input of all members.

Please send your nominations for Rural and Urban Director at Large to: [email protected]

Follow along though watching for emails to the membership, on the AFCA website, Chiefs Chat, and AFCA members only Facebook page.
