Grassland Wildfire Operations
S-100G
This course, Grassland Wildfire Operations (S-100G) is designed to meet the training needs for municipal and wildland fire personnel conducting grassland wildfire suppression operations. This course is adapted for use from the Grassland Fire Operations training course developed by Saskatchewan Environment and Parks Canada (2003) and the Wildfire Orientation training course developed by Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development.
S100G – understanding grassfires and safely managing them is the most fundamental wildland priority for structural and wildland firefighters. The speed and potential intensity of grassfires can be very dangerous to ground personnel and values at risk. Live fire with ground ignition is a fundamental component of this instruction.
