Grew up in Huxley, AB on a family farm. Started volunteering with Trochu Fire in 1996, became Deputy Chief in 2006 and Chief in 2013. I been an advocate for teamwork, training, and collaboration between our municipal partners. I use my position to promote the fire service. I have been awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Exemplary Service Medal, and the Alberta Emergency Services Medal. I promote the skills of the volunteer first responders in our province, and use my experience and knowledge as a Trochu Fire Services Instructor which has helped train firefighters from Carbon, Acme, Three Hills, Torrington, and Linden fire departments. I believe the volunteer departments are an underappreciated resource, and we need to promote them to preserve emergency services across our province. I have dedicated many hours to training myself and my fellow responders to provide professional, compassionate, competent services to help our community.
