It is with great pleasure we introduce the first annual Alberta Wildland Urban Interface Symposium. This symposium will bring together firefighters, chief officers, and industry experts in both forestry and municipal fire services for a weekend of learning and information sharing to help enhance our capabilities in preparedness and response to the increased threats of urban interface fires in Alberta and across this great country. This symposium will be delivered over three days in November from the 6^th-8^th, 2026. Friday the 6^th will start with welcome remarks from the province followed by a keynote from the Strathmore WUI team on the perspective of the Chip Lake fire from there view. Following the keynote will be breakout sessions and panel discussions that include, white zone vs. green zone ops and integration, wildfire behaviour in the urban setting, ignition operations in the WUI, use of tanker groups as seen from an AAO perspective and much more. Saturday and Sunday will lead into the training sessions that will give fire service personnel the opportunity to complete AEMA WUI specific training programs, WUIB, WUIL, WUIS in a regional setting with certified instructors, enhancing the opportunity to learn from others around this fine province and beyond.

Two registration options:

• Single day tickets (Friday only) for just the keynote and breakout sessions or
• Full symposium tickets (Friday-Sunday) offering you access to keynote, breakout sessions, and two days of learning sessions. (space is limited to learning sessions numbers)

Either option includes the event social on Friday night at the Pomeroy Hotel. Breakfast and lunches are included.

Friday will see vendor displays on hand for your viewing pleasure, giving you the opportunity to speak with these companies and how they can support your wildland operations in the future. A special thank you to our vendors who helped to make this symposium possible.
