Leduc County Fire Services and the Alberta Vehicle Extrication Association are pleased to host this year’s Big Rig H.O.T. Symposium. The host hotel is the Holiday Inn & Suites Edmonton International Airport and Conference Centre, 1100 – 4th Street, Nisku, AB. The half day lecture/classroom is located at the Holiday Inn & Suites Edmonton International Airport and Conference Centre. The practical skills / workshops are located at the Leduc County Fire Services Regional Training Center @ Nisku Fire Station, 606-21 Ave., Nisku.

The symposium will begin with the lecture on Large Vehicle Rescue Techniques, Large Vehicle Anatomy and introduce you to the Five Steps to a successful Rescue Operation. This lecture will be located in a meeting room at the Holiday Inn & Suites Edmonton International Airport and Conference Centre. On Day 1, rescuers will attend the theory portion of the learning symposium. Day 2 & Day 3, @ 08:00 hrs., rescuers are to report to the Regional Training Center where they will be broken into four training groups that will require hands on training, rotating through the work shops / pits that demonstrate Level I review skill sets, then participating in the Level II skill sets in big rig under-runs, rollovers and cut/evolutions.
