Training Opportunity - Advanced Heavy Rescue Symposium, AVEA

The Alberta Vehicle Extrication Association is hosting the 2019 Advanced Heavy Rescue Symposium September 21 and 22 at the CFD Training Academy (5727 - 23 Avenue) Calgary, AB.

This learning symposium will provide firefighters the opportunity to participate in and witness extremely complicated large extrications. This will include Buses, B-train Rollover onto multiple vehicles, Bridge deck collapse scenario, Vehicle in trench and a new addition called “Hanging Around” where rescuers perform extrication on a suspended vehicle in the air. For students who choose to partake in this new rotation we ask that they have a minimum of Rope Level 1.

Participants of the Advanced Heavy Rescue Symposium will have the opportunity to be involved in workshops that demonstrate “Advanced Stabilization & Extrication Techniques” using heavy wreckers and recovery lift bags. Many emergency departments, as a result of the Advanced Heavy Rescue Symposium, will benefit from the new techniques learned and tools used to improve their rescue skills and pre-hospital care management.

We have a limited number of spots left so to avoid disappointment register ASAP.  For more information or to register please open the files below.
