The mission of the High River Fire Department is to provide fire suppression, fire prevention, and rescue services as our part in preserving and enhancing the quality of life in the Town of High River and aiding in providing a safe community for our residents, businesses, industry, and our environment. The High River Fire Department seeks to be a respected and productive organization in the Town of High River and the surrounding communities by providing quality services in an efficient manner. The department strives to be considered an “Employer of Choice” by its employees, volunteers, their peers, and other businesses and organizations in our community.
We are seeking an experienced leader who can draw from their diverse fire and emergency services background to lead the High River Fire Department into the exciting future. You will be given the responsibility to strategically utilize your experience and expertise to shape a collaborative and effective team to ensure the safety and well-being of the town we all love and call home. Your passion will be demonstrated through your hunger to exceed status quo and your daringness to push boundaries into areas that have yet to be explored.
To be successful you will have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration or a related field and/or post-secondary education in Fire Services or an equivalent combination of education and experience. To compliment your education, you will have a minimum of ten years’ experience in Fire Services with at least five years or more experience in a management or leadership role, with the ability to demonstrate strong leadership and management skills. Previous experience in a municipal setting is considered an asset.
